Wedding at the Walled Garden Cowdray – Elliot and Anya

So, after much blogging about the Walled Garden in Cowdray and the Cowdray Castle Ruins I can now move onto the Wedding of Elliot and Anya itself.

Elliot and Anya contacted me early last year. We’d never met until their wedding day and so I got there especially early to find my bearings. Both had travelled from Essex which is why we hadn’t met sooner, they have a lot of family this way so a Wedding at the Walled Garden Cowdray was their best option.

Inside the ceremony area at the Walled Garden Cowdray

I was only in for a half day on this one but from the end of the ceremony we went into the dining area for a five minute breather where Elliot and Anya collected their thoughts before we left for the Cowdray Castle ruins for some photos. As an option to using the Walled Garden in Cowdray for weddings the Castle Ruins can also be obtained for exclusive use, for a small (and I mean small) fee.

These are very dramatic and can be put to good use in the creative sense to create images that really stand out.

Cowdray Castle grounds are great for photos

On from this we left the Castle Ruins and headed back to the guests awaiting Elliot and Anya’s return. Rather than go back the way we came the better way is to go through the door in the wall at the back of the gardens. This is the perfect spot for confetti throwing as the path is quite narrow and forces people to stand either side of the path.

From this there was a few formals and general mingling until the Wedding Breakfast.

Wedding at the Walled Garden Cowdray – Summary

If you choose to have your Wedding at the Walled Garden Cowdray you will of chosen well. It has everything within reach and is a good, flexible size to host parties large and small. It’s one of the few places I’ve been to where people can have seclusion but still be close at hand.

The gardens present a beautiful canvas for relaxing images yet a short walk away you have the opportunity for stark contemporary images with the Castle ruins. The Walled Garden Cowdray is well run and managed and comes highly recommended.
