Pangdean Barn

This was my first wedding hosted at Pangdean Barn, Pyecombe, East Sussex.

The venue has the most amazing garden area and inside the barn is beautiful. I really enjoyed being the wedding photographer there.

Pangdean Barn has everything is catered for. There is a P.A. system for speeches, a heated patio area, newly fitted toilet facilities and the staff are friendly and considerate beyond reproach.

I met the chef and he talks with passion over his food and there is a tremendous sense of pride amongst the staff and everyone works together well.

When you see this you know that the place is managed well.

If you are considering having a wedding reception there please do and if looking for a wedding photographer …you know where to come!

It’s a fabulous place for photo’s as well. Lots of little nooks and crannies for relaxed formals and arty shots of the bride and groom.

Brighton Registry Office – Matt and Adams Civil Partnership – Brighton Town Hall

Brighton Town Hall has picture potential by the bucketload

Yesterday was the Civil Partnership of Adam and Matt at Brighton Registry Office aka Brighton Town Hall.

I was only there for just over an hour, the rain stopped play briefly and the low light inside proved quite a challenge (thanks to the rain clouds overhead) but I still managed to get plenty of great shots.

Brighton Registry Office isn’t the easiest place to get well exposed photos in either!

Wedding Venue – Grittenham Barn

At Grittenham Barn there's a lot of potential for creative ceiling lighting.

Today I met a bride to be at her future venue, Grittenham Barn , Tillington in West Sussex.

It’s always good to see a venue in advance with a customer, it helps me create a clearer picture of the days proceedings and what is expected of me as their wedding photographer.

The Barn itself is huge, in comparison about as long as Pangdean Barn but not as wide with a slightly lower roof. (for those that have been to Pangdean)!

The grounds onto which Grittenham Barn is situated are expansive, there’s a large pond with a jetty, ducks, I swear I saw a couple of donkeys and there’s lots of ornate goodness everywhere and as I was returning to the car I did see a couple of VW Campers, restored ones.

Because I’m a Wedding Photographer in Sussex I work a lot of Barn weddings, because of this I can see the potential in somewhere like this even so early in the year. I can’t wait to see what it will look like in the late Spring.

Here’s a tip though, if you are using your Sat Nav to find this place, the postcode is accurate. At some point in the road you’ll find a colourful sign that just says ‘Grittenham’, you need to turn off there or else carry on down the road, turn around and come back again…….just like I did this morning! ;)

The inside of the barn is huge, there was another section behind me when I took this picture.

There are lots of options with the internal decor.

Pin up photo shoot – Emma

I thoroughly enjoy the 50′s pin up look, and generally anything slightly away from the norm in that style.

Going back to April this year Emma was down in the studio…. over the course of a few hours we took some 300 images with very good results.

Landmark Photography – Brighton Pavilion Music Room

Brighton Pavilion Music Room

There are the eight wonders of the world, then there is the Brighton Pavilion Music Room.

One of the most wonderous sites to see though is the Music room in Brighton Royal Pavilion.

There is so much detail and beauty in this room it is very hard to capture on camera, the images were taken during a wedding I was the photographer at.

Ordinarily photography is not allowed there so had to get some quick snaps in.
