The Roaring 20′s
Mark and Lea were married a few weeks ago and from the offset they wanted a 1920′s themed wedding.
As you might expect a few things were different from your normal wedding. For starters there was no Wedding Breakfast, more of a High Tea with cucumber sandwiches, cherry scones, tea in fine china and biscuits. Mark was in a Tuxedo and Lea was in a long Flowing Marilynesque wedding dress.
Everyone was dressed beautifully in the 20′s theme and it carried really well throughout.
A lot of the guests were from the USA and unfortunately Jet Lag took hold of a couple of them. I did take pictures of them asleep and for that I’m eternally unapologetic.
Another nice touch was that random old photos had been spread throughout the reception area along with old copies of the Times from the 1920′s.
The ceremony was at the Brighton Royal Pavilion with a short walk to the Royal York hotel which acted as the reception venue. The Royal York has been recently renovated and is the perfect venue, really lovely inside.
Lea’s bouquet was beautiful and made out of brooches for her by a good friend. a really nice addition to the day. It wasn’t thrown!
After High Tea myself, Mark and Lea went for some more personal portraits on Brighton seafront, it was very windy but sunny and we got some fab shots. A really lovely day!
