Boudoir – Pin Up Photography – Sam

I enjoy all things retro. When I’m able to combine my love of pin up photography with say, the 50′s then I’m in a happy place.

At the studio I’ve a large selection of props, old flight cases, hats, tops, chairs, backgrounds….the list is endless.

Recently I had the pleasure to work with Sam who brought her own ideas to her shoot and who helped bring about some great shots.

Doing Boudoir Photography correctly is not an easy thing to do. Every bodyshape is different and for some it’s their first time in front of the camera (in a photo shoot sense).

A lot of the obstacles in Boudoir Photography come down to nerves. It’s why a good 20 minutes of the initial preperation involves simple talking and building trust with the customer.

You have to have complete faith in the boudoir photographers ability and there has to be a level of trust that your images will never appear anywhere else without your permission.

Fortunately Kimberley (above) was more than happy to use her images as part of this post.

This was 8pm in the evening with no natural light...

There was a lot of space to work in at the hotel.

This time of year is generally when people start making plans for the rest of the year that will lead them into the next.

Kerrie is one such person. An aspiring model she wanted a professional photographer to put together a modelling portfolio for her agency.

Model Portfolios are always enjoyable to do. Over the course of a few hours we covered everything from fashion to boudoir, creating a dynamic portfolio bound to impress those that view it.

We covered everything from Fashion to Boudoir.

Kerrie wanted a generic seductive, not sleazy look.

Pin up photo shoot – Emma

I thoroughly enjoy the 50′s pin up look, and generally anything slightly away from the norm in that style.

Going back to April this year Emma was down in the studio…. over the course of a few hours we took some 300 images with very good results.

Nice working with you Emma!

Boudoir Photography – Francesca

Recently I opened Sussex Boudoir. A boudoir photography site which caters for the more high end (but not high price) side of boudoir photography.

I wanted to do boudoir photography but in a way that doesn’t end up with badly framed, soft focus, over photoshopped images that seem to be everywhere right now…almost as if vaseline has been smeared over the image.

Working with select Make up artists across Sussex I aim for a more storytelling type of photography. Images that lead somewhere and have a purpose rather than making the lady out to be an object.

So far feedback has been great and particular thanks go to the ladies who have given me their kind permission to use their images to promote the site. Thank you!
