Katie and Keith’s Really Quite Fabulous Vintage Wedding

As I type this, I’m in a pub in Oxford getting ready for tomorrows wedding. Right now, I’m technically in a flood zone!

Rain wasn’t a problem for Katie and Keith, the wind was, during the formals on the green outside the Chequered Skipper the wind was so fierce we lost part of a tree…a big bit!

It was windy, did I say that?

But still, we’re British, we laugh in the face of bad weather. (We’ve no choice).

I started the day at the Haycock hotel in Wansford where Katie and her bridesmaids were getting ready, when I went to take photos of the dress I was surprise how heavy is was but Katie told me it was a genuine Vintage dress with French Lace in. It was gorgeous, Katie found it at Abigails Vintage Bridal.

I left in advance of the bridal party. Katie and Keith chose St John the Baptist in Upton (Peterborough) to be wed at.

This was the nicest church I’ve ever worked in. Just a dinky church on the edge of a field. It felt like it was in the middle of nowhere. Beautiful.

After the ceremony the entire party headed to the Chequered Skipper in Ashton where Helen from Magpie Crockery had decorated the tables and ceiling with Pom Poms, bunting, vintage crockery, old tea chests with flowers in….really classy and cool.

From here we went and fought the wind for photos. After the dinner and speeches I ran my photo booth for about and hour, a few people rocked out….

…and then we went to the first dance.

As always, credit where credit is due, other than the fab Abigails Vintage Bridal and Magpie Crockery word has to go to the fabulous table of cakes by Mimosa Bakery. Literally, a table of cakes, they hand paint some of them too…I strongly recommend checking them out, icing isn’t too sweet, sponge isn’t eggy, really good stuff.

Katies Hair and Makeup was by the lovely Elizabeth Claire and her shoes were from Emmy.

Lastly, Katie and Keith had a really cool two piece band called the Matt Stafford Duo.

Right, I’ve got to go catch some shut eye for tomorrow….but before I go, here are some more photos from the day:

Upwaltham Barns – Emily and Dan

Hi guys, here are some shots from Emily and Daniels Wedding at Upwaltham Barns a few weeks ago.

Those familiar with the blog know that I usually write up a fair amount about the day and all that happened but because of the time of year it is, I just don’t have the free time right now so I’ll come back and edit this post later when I do!

But, there’s still no excuse to not post a nice wedge of lovely photos for you to look at, it was a lovely day, A stunning couple, awesome venue and the dancefloor rocked…but I’ll tell you about that later…!

A Stanmer House and Hotel Du Vin Wedding – Lucy and James

Lucy and James contacted me last year to be their wedding photographer and whilst they gave me a run down of things nothing really prepared me for the day ahead.

I started at the home of Lucy’s parents for the prep side of things and afterwards travelled to Stanmer House where the wedding ceremony was taking place. Stanmer House has always had the loveliest light inside and particularly shows in the photos from the day.

After the ceremony there was canapes and drinks in the marquee and on the lawn where the formal photos were taken. The light was good but the brollies had to come out sometimes!

Then the Big Lemon arrived to take us all to Hotel Du Vin where the wedding breakfast was held and I escaped with Lucy and James for some photos on the beach.

Now their wedding day was on the Sunday of the queens jubilee so Brighton was pretty much quiet as a mouse and so tis afforded us much more leeway for photos. The beach was quiet and we had time. It was nice for none of us to feel rushed.

Once the evening guest had arrived there was the first dance and I made my way home. Winkworth Farm Wedding – Hannah and Joe

Hannah and Joe at Winkworth Farm

Winkworth Farm in Wiltshire played host to Hannah and Joe’s wedding in early June.

This was very vintage and boho in style with lots of personal touches everywhere.

Hannah and Joe made copious amounts of beautiful bunting and had stunning wildflowers on all the tables which complemented the ring of flowers worn in the hair of Hannah and her bridesmaids.

The farm is an all in one venue which has a courtyard barn for overnight stays and bridal preperations. The ceremony can be held in either the garden (as it was in this case) or in the main building if the weather is a bit erm…British.
