Usually I put this at the end of my boudoir posts but a couple of clients have asked me if they have a choice in them being shown or not….
I never show any Boudoir images without the express permission of those in the image. Boudoir photography is a very personal and private thing. I consider myself fortunate that I’m allowed to show even one to help promote my work.
This blog post is for Sam, she visited my Boudoir company ‘Sussex Boudoir’ for a full boudoir shoot.
I used the makeup artist Claire Pimbley and a local boutique hotel which has huge rooms that help with giving variety to the shots.
Nice to see my work hitting the major press (albeit in Germany)
A few months ago I was working the Ministry of Burlesques High Tease at Komedia.
Beatrix Von Bourbon was on stage a couple of times and the resulting shots made it into a major German newspaper this week.
I’m very self critical (it keeps me grounded) so it’s always nice to find that someone thinks my images are worth going to print for.
Special mention should go to Beatrix too for letting me know about the paper. Unfortunately there are very few people who respect the photographer with work my work turning up in all sorts of places.
As Sussex wedding photographers myself and Laura work together very well with our relaxed contemporary and reportage styles overlapping beautifully to make timeless images.
Jonathan and Miriams wedding was no exception to this.
They were married at St Peters Church in Bishops Waltham. St Peters has a very restrictive (but understandable) policy on photographs. We were told that during the service photos could only been taken as the bride walked down the aisle, during the vows, the register and walking up the aisle.
That said, we had a balcony for Laura to work from and were free to use the church after the service for staged, contemporary shots.
Also, due to the the high occupancy of the grounds at the church there wasn’t anywhere to take formals (but these were covered at the Golf club).
Because it was a very relaxed day without any real time limits (a pitfall of many weddings) a huge amount of great images were taken at this time.
We travelled to the reception at East Horton Golf Clubwhere ourselves and the bride and groom went out in buggies to the lake for further photos (such as the one above).
East Horton laid on a particularly nice spread upstairs, the table arrangements were well spaced and the Autumn sun cut through the upstairs blinds beautifully adding further to out images.
Despite being classified as Sussex Wedding Photographers we are happy to cover other areas such as this one.
If you’d like to see more of Jonathan and Miriams images please see our Wedding Gallery here.

It’s quite a challenge but when you get it right it can be quite magical. The Tiger Lillies concert however was the darkest show I’ve ever been to.
There was one spotlight for each of the three members of the group. Adrian Stout, the double bass player, kept rocking back and forth through the light and was almost impossible to capture.
