Wedding Photography – Gill and Lee

A moment for extra photos away from the crowd

Wedding Photographers

Wedding Photographers work all through the year. It’s October, leaves have pretty much fallen from the trees, the weather is turning very cold and I’m still out doing weddings.

To be honest though this is my favourite time of year for wedding photography. Lots more colour to work with and a lower than usual sun which reduces high contrast areas a little bit when outside giving a more even look to the images.

This was the wedding of Lee and Gillian. They were married at the Church of St Phillip Howard in Fareham and then onto ‘New Place’ in Wickham, Southampton.

Despite some adverse weather (hail at one point) that would hinder most wedding photographers on leaving the church there wasn’t any other problems.

Congratulations both of you!

Jewellery

Lots of shiny things....are awkward to photograph

Not only am I an accomplished portrait and wedding photographer but I also get approached to to photos of awkward things like jewellery and watches.

It’s not easy working with all those shiny reflective items. They never sit the way you want them too. There’s often hundreds of pieces and they’re always difficult to light correctly.

Luckily I don’t get them too often. Not that I like to turn work away mind you.

Give me a wedding anyday!

Everyone from her class was there having fun.

The weather was brilliant, lots of noise and a broken trampoline!

De Vere’s Venue – New Place Wickham (Southampton)

Soon I’ll be making a post about Gill and Lees wedding at New Place in Wickham (Nr Southampton) but I wanted to give a short one on the venue itself in case you’re considering it.

The venue is clean and tidy and unlike a lot of large venues does’nt look manufactured.

The internal decor is very ornate, there are plenty of nooks and crannies to escape to and the service is beyond reproach.

Special mention must go to the gardens that even this October we well looked after and very very pretty for photographs.

Wedding Photography – Justin and Susie

Wedding Photographers

Now that demand for wedding photographers has fallen off I can do a retrospective blog on weddings that I didn’t have time to mention this year.

Justin and Susie were married at Weybridge Registry Office in May, from there they went to Hazelwood Golf Club in Sunbury on Thames.

From all the wedding photographers out there I was chosen because of my relaxed informal style. The registry office was great to work in, with plenty of light and the weather was fab all day. The registry office has a large garden out the back which assists in the formals taken.

Hazelwood golf club has a Marquee for weddings connected to the main building. It’s very child friendly and there’s lots of grounds to play on (and take photos).
