Wedding Photography – Persian Engagement

Bickley Manor Hotel has great grounds for photos

Last weekend we were at Bickley Manor Hotel Bromley ( in myself and Laura’s capacity as Wedding Photographers ) which was hosting a Persian engagement party.

The family were amazing, the Hotel staff warm and friendly and the land on which the hotel stood was very good for composing photos.

The ground was raised in certain areas allowing for group shots and there were isolated trees dotted around the landscape helping me further.

It also gave me the chance to work with the great videographer Martin Walsh once more. The benefit of having Martin onboard is that he has worked with a lot of Wedding Photographers over the years and is always good for advice and ideas.

Despite this being their engagement I hope to be their wedding photographers on their wedding day!

Landscapes and HDR photography

One of the benefits of dog ownership is that I get out a lot more.

Usually I’ll end up in a field somewhere with Harvey (my Westie) running up to cows (and running away again) but I almost always bring the camera too.

Yesterday I took the above shot. Seven combined exposures created this image, all handheld.

Ordinarily I’m not a big fan of HDR images but on a sunny day where you have to either expose for the bright areas or the dark it’s a good way forward.

Annabelles Wigs Shoot

Great fun!

I had the great opportunity to work with Claire from Annabelles Wigs a few days ago. Not only Claire but Tamar Higgs and Make up artist Zena McCarthy.

It was Tamar’s first time in the studio but as an accomplished model she was brilliant in front of the lens from the word go.

A great and enjoyable days work!

This is Elvis | Elvis Impersonator

Jim Devereaux Elvis Impersonator at Komedia Brighton in preperation for 'This is Elvis'

This Is Elvis

Ok, so technically NOT Elvis Presley but an excellent and energetic impersonator can be found in Jim Devereaux, a talented and amazing Elvis Impersonator.

He was performing the ‘This Is Elvis’ show at Komedia a couple of nights ago.

Backed up by ‘The Burning Love Band’ and some fabulous backing singers known as ‘Just the 3 of Us’ he literally brought the house down.

Half the audience were up on their feet dancing, waving their hands in the air and when the show ended they raised the roof for an encore.

Thanks for a great evening Jim, even though I was there on a professional basis I had a great time and your images were posted today.

Headshot Photography – Stitch

Today was a bit of an odd one.

Before me was a perfectly normal character with a soft northern accent. A few moments later I was greeted with ‘Auuuh Wassssit meenoo nasa’.

This was the voice of Stitch from Disney’s Lilo and Stitch. Jimmy Bates made for a very humorous couple of hours today in the studio whilst present for his headshot photography.

I was also treated to Jar Jar Binks as well. A fun and educational afternoon.
